Fireproof Movie

At the Couples Conference this weekend, hosted at Christ Fellowship in partnership with Gary Smalley, we got to see an incredible preview of Fireproof the Movie. I can’t yet find the Fireproof scene online that we were shown with Kirk Cameron starring in the lead role (get with it movie promoters), but it has to be one of the best scenes of his career. It may be one of the most intensely real scenes between a married couple to ever hit the big screen. Here is the only trailer I could find for you to get a taste:

Thought I would test the post by email functionality in WordPress and send this photo of Lily on the way to church this morning. Shot on my iphone in low light. A bit blurry, but fun.

After about two years running on an older version of WordPress.org, the tool we use to compose and publish blog entries, I have finally upgraded my site to the most recent version. I must say the backend interface is heaps nicer. Hopefully all this pleasantry will encourage me to write more.

Fallen But Not Forgotten

In the decision to move to Florida to work for Christ Fellowship, I had to deal with some feelings of unworthiness that I had not faced in a long time. When God tees up a sweet shot for you, it is sometimes tough to think you are the right person to take the swing. In my case, I felt unworthy because of my falleness. I am very familiar these days with my weakness because it rears its head daily in my life in the little things. You know, parenting, finances, relationships, and work. So in the midst of working out if the move to Florida was right for us, I just felt this overwhelming fear that God could not possibly use me for a work as significant as what seems to await me in West Palm Beach.

I Have a Goatneck

I said in April I am preparing to cycle RAGBRAI 2008, and this weekend is part of that preparation. I am riding one of the top 100 rides in America (according to Bicycling Magazine) with my younger brother. Goatneck had 2,350 riders last year. That makes it one of the largest rides in America, though nothing compared to RAGBRAI.
